What if we only interacted with people like ourselves?

(Posted by Jessica Russell)

The Economist ran an article last year looking at the way people were picking neighborhoods that were a "better match" for their personalities. It discusses wider implications of these changes, particularly as it relates to politics. I thought it fit in well with the final slide of today's lecture.

  1. When I was searching for an apartment when I moved to Boston, a couple of real estate agents recommended sites such as zipskinny.com and city-data.com that gives some statistical information about the demographics of a neighborhood. Some of the websites give so much information that I don't know if someone would have to pick a couple of key indicators to match their neighborhood rather than finding the "perfect match."
