This blog started as a supplement for my Economics of Information course at MIT. However, it has expanded beyond that purpose and certainly should not be interpreted as official MIT views.
In productivity the human manual conducted IT is limited in many aspects, may I recommend to read (more) about the semantic web. The "trick" is to stop using "text-editors" and start using knowledge-editors. Rule based reasoning and full interoperbillity may sound scary but is necessary (IMHO). To days leaders and managers will with the right mind and tool-set be able to improve productivity. But that requires them to _study_ and understand the productivity enabling of machine helped knowledge technology. IT is only the first (stadardized) brick of KT.
