This blog started as a supplement for my Economics of Information course at MIT. However, it has expanded beyond that purpose and certainly should not be interpreted as official MIT views.
The podcast has some really interesting stories reaffirming the power of free.
ReplyDeleteI completely agree and believe that giving away free product or service is one of the best ways to attract customers. It even influences people who are loyal to the products/services they have been using for years and not really willing to trying new products/services. These regulars are lured into trying out new products and services by offering them free perfume samples at stores, giving free vouchers for using services such as Lyft, discount coupons to dine at a new local restaurant, movie tickets of a new theater or gift card of a new retail/online shop. It digs into existing products customer base and establishes the new product/service with ease.
